Since our humble beginnings, Atkinson Ward Group has always strived to be a market leader in online content publishing.

Our ongoing innovation, robust publishing policies, commitment to incubating and nurturing writing talent, calculated acquisitions of some of the web’s most gifted developers, and overall drive to push the limits of excellence within the space have continued to pay dividends both for ourselves and the trusted partners within our network.

Today, we are proud to announce that we’re taking another huge step to ensuring better content for all websites associated with Atkinson Ward Group.

We are establishing a head content office based in Middlesborough, United Kingdom. The site will be the location where the bulk of the content for the websites within our network will be written.

Our intentions are to establish the office within the city centre itself, allowing for easy public transport access for all potential new staff.

Speaking ahead of the move, AWG’s Managing Director, Michael Grape, commented;

All of us at AWG are thrilled to be taking this exciting step.  We have long desired to extend our outreach to new communities across the country, and the North East is currently bursting with underutilised talent.

AWG intends on bringing up to 50 jobs to the local area of Middlesborough, with positions including:

  • operations manager
  • staff-writer (both full and part-time)
  • proofreaders
  • junior editor
  • senior editor
  • advertising sales executive

Keep an eye on our careers board for these jobs appearing live soon.

AWG also has plans to harvest the best and brightest from local colleges and universities.  Sarah Jeong, AWG’s Head of Partnerships, elaborated;

Getting on the career ladder can be extremely difficult for young people these days.  This is why we’re determined to open our arms and include as many college and university students as possible in our upcoming work experience and internshp programs.  We believe this will project a positive influence to local communities and help inspire the leaders of tomorrow to start their journeys with us.

Michael Grape spoke further about the opportunities the move could bring;

We know that, historically, Middlesborough and its surrounding areas have been economically neglected for a long time.  As a community-conscious company, we are always searching for ways under-represented people can build successful career paths that won’t only benefit them, but the people around them too.  All in all, this will provide countless advantages for us as an organisation, as well as for ambitious young people looking to get a head start.

Despite our new office plans, we’re continuing to minimise our carbon footprint, remaining to allow all our staff to work from home when desired.

Additionally, all AWG staff enjoy our benefits and perks, which include a free work phone, free Grammarly premium, 10% work-travel fees contribution, 10% gym fees contribution, access to discounts across partnered brands, 35 days annual leave, flexible hours & leave, cycle to work scheme, and 3 months free Apple TV.

While our head office will remain in London, this first expansion to Middlesborough is only a small sign of the exciting things to come for Atkinson Ward Group.

More information will be released about the coming office relocation in due course.
