As society slowly begins to emerge into a “new normal”, AWG is determined to provide a safe and happy work environment as our employees return to the office.
However, we’re not out of the woods yet and we know that this global pandemic is far from over. This is why AWG will be proceeding with extreme vigilance.
After consulting with public health professionals and scientific advisors over the course of the pandemic, AWG can announce our new Covid-secure work policies that will take effect immediately.
Mandatory Masks
All employees returning to the office must wear a mask at all times throughout the day, other than when eating and drinking. While the AWG management team has ensured that air ventilation is a top priority, we still won’t be taking any risks. A mask doesn’t just protect the individual wearing it, it protects everyone else too. If an employee claims a medical exemption for not wearing a mask, they will either be asked to instead wear a visor, or work from home.
Social Distancing
The AWG office has strict social distancing guidelines already in place. Desks have been separated two metres apart, and protective plastic screens have been erected between workstations. This is a measure that has been in place throughout shops and hospitality venues, and we have deemed it necessary for our office space.
Proof of Vaccination
AWG are prioritising the health of our employees above everything else. This is why everyone returning to the office must provide proof of full vaccination against Covid-19. Vaccines save lives, and we are taking a firm position on this front. Any employee who has not yet received their full dose of vaccination will be required to work from home until they do. Any employee who for whatever reason decides against getting vaccinated will no longer be allowed to work for AWG. We are making proof of vaccination a condition of employment on the advice of experts. The science is settled, and we will not tolerate ignorance in this area. Again, this is purely for the health and safety of our team.
We believe these measures will give our employees the peace of mind they need in order to return to work safely. Nobody is safe until everybody is safe, and AWG intends to be part of that process.
